A fix is available for SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) 2008 R2 that enables users to rename SQL Azure databases in Object Explorer.
Since SQL Azure Service Update 2, SQL Azure supports the "ALTER DATABASE" statement to rename databases. This fix enables you to rename SQL Azure databases in Object Explorer.
